After many prayers and vaccinations, we are about to embark on, what for some of us will be the greatest adventure of our lives. For Calvin College May Interim 2014, a group of 15 students, 2 professors, and a husband are heading to Zambia, Africa! We begin our trip aiding and observing in classrooms and clinics near Chongwe. For this portion, we will be staying at the Esther School. Then we will travel to Lusaka and stay at the House of Moses orphanage where we will also be aiding and observing in various classrooms and other settings. On the last week of the trip, we will be traveling by bus to Livingstone, adventuring on a safari in Chobe National Park, and visiting Victoria Falls as well as the surrounding area. To come full circle, we will be returning to Lusaka for individual and group presentations. Our trip is not simply to learn, however. As Christ followers, this is an opportunity to spread the love of Jesus to so many of God’s beautiful children. We so look forward to the opportunity He has set before us. To those who have given support and have made this possible for us, you cannot be thanked enough; may God bless you and keep you.
Please know how loved you are and how much we will be missing you. As we leave the comfort of cell phones, internet service, and Walgreens; we thank you for any prayers said on our behalf. We will not fear the unknown, unless it involves spiders…
Isaiah 6:8 “And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.'”
